Lårdalstigen is a popular hike in the heights between Dalen and Lårdal along the Telemark Canal. You arrive at Dalen Hotel and relax before entering the restauraunt and savor a 3-course meal before staying the night in your choosen room. The next morning you travel with the canal boat from Dalen - Lårdal while enjoying your breakfast on the ship. Remember to get your packed lunch and drinks (remember to pack extra water from the reception. Program Day 1: Arrival at Dalen Hotel, check in from 15:00. Enjoy the 3-course meal of the evening in the restaurant and relax infront of the fireplace in preparation for tomorrows hike. Day 2: Remember to pick up the your packed lunch and drinks from the reception. 08:00* // 08:50*, departure from Lastein Brygge with the canal boat with breakfast on board 08:35 // 09:20, arrival Lårdal pier and start of the hike. *Wednsday, Friday and Sunday M/S Victoria departs at 08:00, while one Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday M/S Henrik Ibsen departs at 08:50. The hike is about 14 kilometres long and is best suited for the well trained. Recommended time is 6-8 hours and you will be back in Dalen at about 17:00 / 18:00. * *The hike ends at the heights overlooking Dalen, from here there is a roughly 3 km walk along the road down to the Hotel. Be sure to let us know if you need help organizing transport back down from this point. Once back from the trip we wish you well on your way, but if you want to stay another night your're more than welcome. Please contact us directly to extend your stay. Enjoy your hike! Practical information: Parking: Free on-site parking, electric car charging available via EasyPark. Dining: The hotel reserves the right to adjust times to guarantee the best experience for all hotel guests. Dress code: The restaurant has a dress code in the evening and we want our guests to dress nicely (trousers, shirt, suit jacket etc.) and it is possible to borrow a suit jacket at the hotel.
